What it is for?

The main goals of this project (in-progress):

1. To introduce Olga Tokarczuk’s work and her theoretical/creative concept of “the tender narrator” to a wider audience.
2. To develop the concept of “the tender narrator” through text annotations and visualizations. According to Olga Tokarczuk, “the tender narrator” is a literary device, a voice “from above” which allows to encompass all other voices and perspectives in the text.
3. To annotate multiple voices/communities/locations in The Books of Jacob applying hashtags and put a commentary.
4. To visualize a history of Poland in order to explore different connections between The Books of Jacob and contemporary situation.
